Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process, at which the psychologist or psychotherapist assists the client to cope with problematic experience and aspects of life. Psychotherapy is a curative action via psychological means, which bring along a change in psychopathological symptoms of existence and behaviour of the personality, and also in the way they function in life. This can be done via supportive, therapeutic, or developing treatment.
Psychotherapy as a curative activity is traditionally performed mainly by doctors and psychologists educated in the area, but recently also by experts from other professions, who have been training themselves in psychotherapy on a long-term basis. The Clinic offers the following services: Individual psychotherapy and Pair psychotherapy.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

A large chapter in the field of alternative medicine is traditional Chinese medicine. It includes acupuncture, acupressure, dietetics, moxibustion, and phytotherapy - herbal cure. Chinese medicine dates back to the beginning of the third century BC. Like all types of alternative medicine, also the Chinese one regards a human as a whole and does not attempt to heal just one problem. At dealing with an illness it always takes into consideration its connectedness with the entire body, while the disorder is viewed as a symptom of an unbalance in the body.
The basis is the theory of five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water). Our body organs represent each of these elements. According to Chinese medicine, wood (liver, gall-bladder) feeds fire (heart, small intestine), fire results in earth (spleen, stomach), earth generates metal (lungs, large intestine), metal (kidneys, urinary bladder) through its liquefying produces water, and water nourishes wood. The particular elements mutually tide over. They correspond not only to our organs, but to tastes, emotions, and colours as well.
The theory of the five elements or components is furthermore accompanied by the theory of two contradictory principles of yin and yang. Their balance means harmony; their common activity explains any motion or development. Yin - the female principle - represents cold, darkness, passivity, retreat, matter, downward/down position. Yang - the male principle - stands for energy, rise, upward/upper position, warmth, light, activity, expansion, exterior. If one of the principles prevails, the equilibrium is disturbed and pathological symptoms occur.
Unity of oppositions generates the principle of Qi. Qi is energy, motive power, the essence of life. It circulates in body channels called meridians, which is a network of pathways all over the body. Chinese medicine recognises 12 main meridians. All of them cross certain stimulative points, which are used as contacts between the therapist and Qi. The basis of Chinese medicine, however, is not cure, but prevention, secured for by proper lifestyle, which is also a medicine, since it maintains the body balance and harmony. It follows the principle of “all but moderately”. The first thing that comes into our minds here in our territory when traditional Chinese medicine is mentioned is acupuncture or acupressure. Yet, in China the chief curative method is phytotherapy, herbal healing. Chinese medicine knows multiple of recipes.
Our Clinic offers acupuncture, acupressure, phytotherapy, and dietetics.
